Our Mission

"Love Like Olive" seeks to illustrate that love is more than a word you say, but rather a selfless action that you can do. Pets are our best metaphor of this simple reminder, because we experience their love daily and yet we never actually hear them speak words. Love Like Olive hopes to demonstrate the power of love through various, beautiful moments! 

Our Why

The inspiration for "Love Like Olive" came to me in the middle of a children's literature class during my last semester of college. I had been thinking about a quote I saw earlier in the day on social media that talked about how God created dogs to teach humans that love was never designed to be a word to continuously throw around, but to be an action we participate in daily. Upon reflecting on the concept, I suddenly realized how my own dog, Olive, was the perfect illustration! Before I knew it, my class notes page turned into the very  first draft of the "Love Like Olive" manuscript, and the rest is history. Eventually, I knew that this book would outlive Olive and serve to be a reminder of all of the beautiful ways in which she impacted my life, but I didn't expect it to happen only 2 months after writing it. I pray that her legacy and memory live on through "Love Like Olive" in all of the best and most vivid ways imaginable!

Love Like Olive and Paw It Forward 

In honor of the "Love Like Olive" mission, we have created the Paw It Forward initiative. This campaign challenges participants to embrace love as an action and by completing random acts of kindness or paying it forward. Love is best seen, felt, and understood through intentional actions, so stay updated on our social media for Paw It Forward ideas and opportunities, as well as in the future for Paw It Forward events!
